Scott County Animal Care & Control is a department of the Scott County Government. We are tasked with enforcing state and local laws pertaining to the welfare and keeping of domestic and livestock animals. We are also tasked with managing the Scott County Animal Shelter and placing stray and surrendered animals in new homes.

Scott County Ordinances

The County is currently in the process of updating the website to reflect the new county ordinances relating to animals. Please call us if you have any questions regarding ordinances outside of the City of Georgetown or check back soon for a link to the ordinances.

Kentucky Revised Statute

The KRS is a list of all Kentucky State laws. The KRS is not clearly divided into categories as our local ordinances are. It is recommended to use the search feature to find state laws relating to animals.
